Mimicking insider trades

چکیده

We examine whether outside investors mimic insider trades by analyzing the daily transactions of foreign institutional (FII) in Indian emerging market. find that value relevance insiders' opportunistic buy is much higher our context relative to reported for developed markets. More importantly, we FII trades, which more pronounced firms are informationally opaque or have lower corporate governance quality. A long-short strategy based on FII's after generates an additional abnormal return approximately 29% annually, compared routines trades.
